we had some bots that were scraping our site for podcasts and causing a massive traffic spike to both us and podcastindex that were causing some delayed feed parsing - but this should be resolved now
can you let me know if you see this again?
I know I could probably tag and ask @k00b but it would be great if there was some sn bot that I can ask something like: "give me the context on the aggressive downzapping?" - haven't followed it
@Car it's not fully compatible if Fountain's video hosting as Apple are not currently pulling the video from the RSS Alternate Enclosure - but they are using HLS video so both us and the Podcasting 2.0 community are hopeful they will support this method of video ingestion soon - https://podnews.net/article/video-apple-podcasts-details
In the meantime we are going to reach out to try and become a partner so we can automate the video part via their API.

This week in London - the Podcast Standards Project met to discuss the adoption of new features that improve open podcasting for both listeners and creators.
Our goal is to keep podcasting open and ensure you always have choice of where to listen - without centralised platforms dictating the experience and forcing specific ad volumes or algorithms.
I am advocating within this group to use nostr as the social layer for podcasts - powering likes, comments, and social recommendations by using NIP-73 to canonically reference shows and episodes via their GUIDs - just like we do in Fountain today where all of this data is open for anyone to use.
