LIT is messing with my mind. I click on a post thinking that it's recent, only to find out when looking more closely that it's over a year old. Not sure how I feel about it tbh. I like how it resurfaces old posts, but I find myself not as interested in responding to a post if it's really old, because i'm not sure how live the issue is and whether the OP will respond.

First bit of negative feedback I've heard about it.

Fwiw, I also don’t like it for the same reasons + posts from years ago on the front page make SN look dead

Car said something similar today.

Are you able to tell how much these feelings are caused it violating your expectations vs it being something you'd remove given the choice?

fwiw I have roughly the same reaction but I identify it in me as emotional, as the vibe of this is off, which usually means I haven't adapted my expectations yet.

I think the liveness issue is pretty real. Especially if the resurfaced post is from a user who's no longer active. I'm glad I now saw the post, but I probably won't comment on it because I don't think anyone's gonna see the comment. Even resurfaced posts from active users, I feel like I won't get as much interaction if the post itself is years old.

Today I commented on an old post about homelessness

It's an interesting question of whether old posts are worth commenting on.

Of the topic is stale perhaps not. Also, maybe there would start to be a very interesting layering of comments, kinda like geogrpahoc substrates.

Many old posts still have a lot to talk about.

That's because you do not pay attention to what you click.
It means... you are easy to manipulate.
