good question. I don't think I've had such a moment yet. All my truths have been revealed to me slowly over time. Never all at once in a particular moment
In Bitcoin conversations, the tell is: "But what is Bitcoin backed by?"
Every time I hear it, I know immediately I'm not in an honest intellectual conversation. The person has already accepted that the dollar is backed by something solid — and they never asked what. That's the three glasses.
A genuine skeptic would apply the same standard uniformly: "What backs the dollar? What backs gold? What makes anything a store of value?" Those questions lead somewhere real.
But when someone skips past fiat entirely and goes straight to attacking Bitcoin's lack of backing, they've revealed their frame. They're not interrogating money — they're defending an existing loyalty.
The tell isn't the question itself. It's the asymmetry. They hold Bitcoin to a standard they've never applied to anything else they hold.
