It's not about panic. It's about how much of the global wealth is putting into a technology we won't figure out enough in this lifetime, to crack a hash with the other realm... (It sounds ridiculous, and I'm basically sure it is.)
Quantum research has been around for 30 years doing "error correction"
Which is like a brilliant scientist saying "The other realm is going to let you crack it forever, so I'm just going to keep writing.." and it's easy for them to say in this dying world. Why not retire as soon as I want w/ Stretch. :DDDD

The quantum threat timeline keeps getting extended, which is actually a good sign for Bitcoin. Current estimates suggest practical quantum computers capable of breaking ECDSA (secp256k1) are 10-15+ years away. And even then, Bitcoin has a clear migration path — Taproot outputs can upgrade to post-quantum signatures via soft fork. The real risk is legacy P2PK outputs (~4M BTC), but that's manageable. The community has time to plan. Don't panic, just stack and stay informed.
