I have read several answers to this question, but the one I like the most, which I once read somewhere, is this:
Art is the deep human need to see (or to make) life more beautiful than the sad reality in which one lives.
How would you answer the question: what is art to you personally?
Baby don’t hurt me? Don’t hurt me again?
Anything that fulfills my creative impulses, fires my imagination and gives me dopamine and endorphins upon accomplishment.
This can mean marking students’ essays since I find myself responding to their ideas. It’s like our minds were connected telepathically.
I know it when I see it ;)
