Shitcoin confs need a few legitimate speakers to affinity scam
Agenda seems slightly toned down since earlier ones, but it's still an a-priori theme in the framing of the conference
"op_next" being prevarication that nosocomial change in Bitcoin is
- inevitable
- good
and that "scaling" is
- possible
- necessary
An optimal setting for bad actors/morons to shill nonsense, covenants garbage etc, to unsophisticated investors.
Got half a mind to put my hat in for one with a debunking scaling presentation just to see how they respond, but there's no business in it and I can't be arsed to travel for something so frivolous.
maybe you could get a grant to fund your time and expenses for it. Grants seem to be all the rage right now.
Beyond that, I think it'd be healthy for Bitcoin to get your views on scaling more into the mainstream, so perhaps if you don't end up giving a talk, consider writing an article about how the current conversation about scaling in Bitcoin needs debunking.
Grants seem to be all the rage right now.
Grants are funded by NGO's attacking Bitcoin or to astroturf other commercial scams, legitimate projects/research need not apply... been there done that. Couldn't even get a Nostr grant despite fiatjaf literally iterating it out of the original ShockWallet GUN implementation.
writing an article
Some longer posts here including the Fake L2 article, and podcast appearances, should have sufficed if anyone had any intellectual curiosity or honesty.
It probably needs to come from someone else that cites those arguments as the reason for a deeper dive, to give it the legitimacy of passing an idea filter through multiple people.
It does kind of have a shitcoiny feel, but I saw @schmidty giving a talk there and I'm looking forward to a few of the others.
