Formed a WhatsApp group with several weak writers in my class. I allowed them to chit-chat freely instead of restricting the settings because I didn’t want to be too didactic. This has, however, let me to write frivolous stuff like this:
“Oh no! The aliens are coming!” I screamed hysterically, my eyes wide with shock. The cloudy sky was littered with parachute-like objects which seemed out of the world. To my horror, they appeared to be descending onto my school field! “Were they going to capture us?” Questions like these raced furiously through my mind.
Honestly, the best way to get weak writers to love writing is to make it fun.
You aren't being frivolous, you’re world-building! If they start replying in character, you’ve basically just started a collaborative RPG.
Keep the aliens coming.
that’s true. best way to learn is to keep things light-hearted
expect more frivolous stories to come!
