I thought my first SN account was lost to the ages because I'd originally logged in (years ago) with Lightning and then changed Lightning wallets. That made me sad because it's a username I use elsewhere and I wanted to keep the profile alive.

Then today, I was playing around with SN stuff and decided to try one more time. I re-downloaded the wallet apps I used to use, some of which still had my accounts, and tried authenticating with each one. The QR code blinked but nothing else happened, so I assumed each one was failing, until I clicked 'switch account' again and - one is tempted to drop a 'lo and behold' here - my old username (this one) was in the list of accounts!

So I am back, you guys. The other nyms just didn't feel right.

Oh yeah, I changed jobs, so I'm currently not doing anything professionally related to bitcoin, but it would be awesome if that changed.

This reminds me of those old YouTube videos where a YouTuber would say "I'M BACK" after a six-month hiatus and outline their new weekly posting schedule and then never post another video ever again.

Dang man, I didn't even think of that. I know I accessed SN years ago, and I can see my old username if I look it up, but couldn't find anything in my emails. I bet I signed in with a lightning node. I have a book of old LND node passphrases that I'm going to try!

For me it wasn't passphrases, I just scanned the SN login QR code with different wallets and clicked 'Authenticate'. Or maybe you're just describing the text version of that.

reply

I just mean that I will have to resetup my old node from passphrase backup, so that I can then try scanning in. I'm sure it was an old node that I no longer have setup.

I realized I'm saying the wrong words. I mean seed phrase!

Oh I see, yeah you'll probably get a hit
