So I’ve been chewing on this for a few days. I used to hide my seed in a book, but a relative found it by pure accident while browsing the shelf 😅 It could've been way worse, but the person were super upfront about finding it, it was a massive wake-up call.
Between friends, family, and kids running around, no hiding spot feels 100% safe.
I just upgraded to a metal backup for fireproofing, but here’s my new 'decoy' strategy: I’m leaving a small amount of BTC on the main seed wallet, but moving the bulk of my stack to a hidden wallet with a passphrase.
That way, if someone stumbles onto my seed, they see some sats, they won't even know there's a second layer and stop looking while my main stash stays untouched.
Plus, it acts as an alarm if those funds ever move, i'll know my seed is burnt.
What do you guys think? Nice move or am I overcomplicating it?
