Just a day after we heard this being talked about from the White House, three companies agreed to it.

I need to ask around because it is pretty shocking that NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) is not the body reviewing the models, but instead The Center for AI Standards and Innovation. Both are at the Department of Commerce, and NIST plays a critical role in setting international standards (i.e., paving the way for future technology not being dictated by China).

Originally AISI (AI Safety Institute) was part of NIST. But I don't know if the current administration, that dropped "safety" from the name calling it CAISI, changed that.
