serious question: is your colleague gay? Is he a witch?
reply
Nope married with 2 kids.
He had a near death experience about 8 years ago (heart attack) and it pushed him into being a vegan, but also remaining an atheist.....I initially thought he chose veganism as a belief that it was healthier for his heart, but over the years he has said that its primarily for ethical reasons....yes the whole thing is confusing to me....

Athiesm is vapid. They need Christianity to exist. It's an overreaction an overreaction(Protestism). They don't even realize that they have adopted and adapted the morals of the God they hate. They pervert them but the moral framework they have is derived from Jesus.

I've long noticed this.....there is a corollary issue that many completely secular / atheist seem to be more stringent about animal welfare than those who are religious.
I can't help but find that curious....a colleague of mine is both a vocal atheist and a vegan for "moral reasons".
I really past the age of feeling the need to argue such things with people, but I've tried to gently mention to him that if he doesn't believe in any higher moral authority why does he care about what a random collection of atoms known as a chicken goes thru....he seemed either confused about my point or simply wanted to ignore it.
For the record, I do believe both that (a) God did gives us dominion over the animals and earth to use for our benefit and simultaneously (b) We have a responsibility to be good stewards of it...and that includes reducing animal suffering.
