Obviously a cool milestone but I don't really see what the big deal is.

1000 points in 54 games doesn't seem that great for one of the best players in the league.

Don’t be a hater

reply

Not hating I just feel like the media is trying too hard to make me believe the WNBA is a high quality product.

Let’s go Tempo!

reply

you’re probably not wrong there. It would be helpful to see how other past stars compared in their games to 1000

reply

Do they play fewer minutes or something?

54 games would be pretty fast if they only play 36 minute games.

reply

40 minutes. So it is a shorter game.

That would project to 22.22 pts/game in a 48 minute game. Good but not elite compared to the top scorers in NBA.

reply

Its funny that we live in a world where we are all supposed to beleive women and men are the same and interchangable and yet reality is smacking us in the face all the time.

Just stikes me as funny. And some morons will read this and think I mean that women are inferior.

reply

I'm guessing there are also fewer buckets per minute in WNBA games, though.

reply

Yes. It is probably very good by WNBA standards.

reply

WNBA needs something to get excited about

reply

I mean it is a milestone and she is their most marketable player but I feel like the media is always trying to hard to make the WNBA seem like a high quality product.

reply

I thought she left the female NBA? Did that not happen?

reply

No that did not happen.

reply

Huh. Ok. Well... good for her.

reply

Record views, sold out arenas, and fastest to 1k.

Yeah, nothing special?

reply

She is a great player.

It only translates to 18.5 points per game, which would translate to 22.2 points per game if they played an NBA length game. 30 NBA players averaged over 22 points a game this season. So while an impressive milestone it doesn't seem that remarkable to me.

reply

She's generational.
