I'm a big fan of Massie (to the extent that someone politically disinterested can like a politician): #769280, #1075711, #1075722, #1015842. He seems honest and principled and is a charismatic nerd and founder.
His congressional primary is in a week or so and he is being primaried for his work on getting the Epstein files released, and his votes against foreign aid and Trump's spending bill. Largely uncontested until now, his primary opponent is being funded by Super PACs who are funded by billionaires who aren't from Kentucky.
Anyway, I mostly wanted to share this because he's accepting bitcoin donations for his campaign at https://www.massiemoneybomb.com/.
Granted, you have to KYC to make political donations, but he's accepting The One True Internet Money and I think that's cool.
btw for your viewing pleasure I skipped past Tucker's opening monologue (yuck).
Better put that bitcoin to use in the local community to have a meaningful change.
But yeah it’s entertaining to fantasize with the idea that we would finally have a new boss leading the nation that will change things.. that was always the narrative around Trump too.
Did you donate?
I'm tempted to. To show bitcoin works.
Mmm... went to the page... the donate by bitcoin tab still says "donate by credit card" and has dollar denominated amounts...
I didn't. I'm afraid to have a public record of political donations out there.
The UI is confusing, and defaults to credit card after selecting bitcoin, but you can donate in bitcoin afaict.
A politician openly accepting bitcoin donations still feels weirdly rare considering how long Bitcoin has been around.
