I built a free calculator that adds up your TRUE tax burden — not just federal income tax, but FICA, state income, sales tax, property tax, gas tax, and the indirect corporate tax baked into prices — then frames it in Bitcoin terms.

Most people only count fed income tax (the W-2 number). When you actually count everything, the effective rate is 30-50% of gross income for most Americans.

For a married couple making $100K in California with a home:

Federal income: $4,943
State income: $6,300
FICA: $7,650
Sales tax (on $66K annual spend): ~$3,000
Property tax: ~$3,300
Indirect (baked into prices): ~$4,000
Total: $32,353 (32.4% effective rate)

Then the part that matters to us:
That same $32,353/year over 10 years, in Bitcoin at historical 30% CAGR = $446,008.

That's the opportunity cost of paying taxes in fiat. Most people never run this.

Why I built it:
The Bitcoin community taught me that the right answer is to not let any third party hold our data. So this tool runs on your input and forgets it. No "free trial that becomes $19.99/mo." No "upload your bank statement to our cloud." Just the calculation.

Feedback wanted:

State-level math accuracy — I used flat rates because progressive state brackets get gnarly. If your state has a real progressive structure I should add, tell me.
"Indirect tax" estimate — I used 6% of consumer spending based on academic estimates. Other plausible numbers welcome.
Bitcoin compounding rate — 30% CAGR is conservative (10-year average is closer to 80%). But I don't want to oversell.
