I love this. I imagine in the UK, the man would be arrested, and the squatter would probably be gifted the property, or it would take the courts 5 years and a million pounds in fees to evict them. Facebook would applaud the squatters because it was the greedy house owners' fault for having a house anyway.

I remember watching something about a goon squad for hire in Spain for a similar issue. the difference was people taking over the properties of English people, empty holiday homes etc

The goon squad of choice was rapist-looking, jacked Russian men (ex boxers, mma etc), like mercs for hire, just sans swords.

But if the State can't and won't protect innocent people, the free market will do it.

My final thought on this is, I'm surprised that we don't have squatfluencers yet, viral squatters that get famous with their tips on how to live rent fee, easiest squat locals and not to get sliced by a samurai sword.

That would be a good idea for a black mirror episode, actually
