Fully opening it isn't likely to be as beneficial anymore. Iran caused massive damage to Qatar's LNG facilities that will take 5 years to fix. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are moving oil via pipelines. The only countries currently stuck are Iraq, Kuwait, and Iran. Also, Bahrain, but I am not exactly sure how much oil they produce.
Nice hedging then by Qatar to own 70% of the Golden Pass LNG export terminal in Texas. Win some, lose some.
