It's the best kind of slippery slope, first seniors, then homeschoolers (75% of my property taxes go to the fucking school district), then anyone with a homestead exemption.
States/counties/muni's have a largely captive base that's been exploited. Renting your residence from these hucksters is the biggest tax burden for many. Bringing property taxes into the national conversation is long overdue.
