Right. Mamdani’s election is a result of economic decline.
It's not the cause of economic decline...yet
People don't realize how far we can actually decline.
After a 50% collapse, NYC would pretty much be Europe or Canada
And that is not even close to the USSR or Venezuela. When people talk about California like its a communist hellscape they just expose their ignorance. I mean, don't get me wrong... its on the wrong path but it's no where near real communist.
To quote an old Ronald Reagan joke.
As someone who often dismisses CA as a commie hellscape, I mean it more in terms of how much the state seeks to interfere with people's daily lives.
