I predict no games missed but a rocky road along the way.
I also predict no hard cap or floor but very punitive penalties for teams that go over the luxury tax and larger revenue sharing. Maybe a short term deal is signed and they punt the cap talk 2-4 years down the road.
It would be a very stupid time to have a work stoppage. They just made a bunch of changes to improve the pace of play and try to attract younger fans. They have their biggest global star ever in Ohtani and a dynastic team in the Dodgers. They are just getting into the streaming wars (apple and netflix now). They just had an amazing WBC. Globally this is the best chance to grow baseball ever. They are going to screw that up because the Dodgers, Mets, Yankees, Jays etc want to spend and other teams don't?
Why are we punishing owners for spending more on their team?
Not only should there be no cap, draft order should be based entirely on team spending (and not in the commie way).
Did you see the new NBA draft lottery rules?
No but I heard they flattened the odds significantly
Worst three teams no longer have the best odds to win the lottery. They get penalized.
That’s a start. Maybe they’ll keep going once they see the power of incentives.
