My three takeaways:

1. The pentagon was attacked 60 years to the day it opened.
2. Supposed to be temporary for World War II operations but that was scrapped after the war.
3. Due to segregation laws during the design the building has more bathrooms than needed. FDR scrapped this law but it was too late.
