thanks to sufficient zaps on the poll, I will probably post a second one with a slacker deadline [e.g. a week, rather than the default, which I always forget is only one day], although let's first see how the votes on this one end up.

if there is really strong consensus then I'll probably be better advised to focus on the winning choice.

unfortunately, neither long articles of any kind, nor comments, are high on my priorities, regardless of bounties; however if there is enough interest expressed in votes and/or comments, I might rant something out in hopes of winning participation trophy zaps.

obviously I'll pay some attention to zaps on the poll and comments, although it's a poll for a reason, and I currently value the nuance of any verbal opinions far more than the opportunity to stack sats... staying humble does not help overcome writer's block.
