Hello!

A friend and myself are working in a marketplace, where writers, musicians and any other digital content creators could sell their products to their audience and receive the payment instantly via LN and OnChain BTC.

The idea is very simple, reduce the fees and allow the creators to receive their cut at moment a sell is donde, directly to their lightning address.

We're designing the platform from scratch, we have zero experience creating this kind of marketplace, so we would like to hear (read) from people who has some experience creating marketplaces, e-commerces or any type of platform for selling digital content.

What mistakes should be focus on avoiding?

What features do you consider a MUST from day 1?

What would you like to see in a marketplace that you have not seen before?

And for those with more technical experience:
what unexpected challenges did you encounter when managing product catalogs, payments, digital downloads, seller accounts, or disputes between buyers and sellers?

All kind of feedback is welcome! Please, send your ideas, critics, experience, etc

¡Gracias!

being too broad. start in a niche. think fire: small intense flame to start, then slowly, very slowly, adding bigger and bigger pieces of wood.

marketplaces are double-sided markets. sellers won't come before buyers and buyers won't come before sellers. so you'll need some trick to get one side or the other started first.

Thanks!

I really like the fire analogy.

We'll go step by step (product by product)
