So, this guy designed a mining firmware that will throttle any miner pointed at a chain that has less than a certain network difficulty level and since BTC's difficulty is so much higher than all the other proof of work chains, it effectively means any miners running this firmware wouldn't work well if pointed at other proof of work chains (eg. BCH or BSV).
Here's the rule:
if network_difficulty(nbits) < 100T -> NOT BitcoinThis seems like a pretty horrible idea to me. But, hey, people can build whatever they want and run whatever they want. I don't think I'd buy miners with this firmware, though.
