The all-important primary school leaving exam (PSLE) is around the corner — and my students are still failing.

miserably.

So, this is the predicament that I am facing — getting them to scrap through by hook or by crook. The Universe must have heard my plea because I encountered a website in which a father painstakingly compiled assessment questions from both school preparatory papers and actual PSLE exams. It made me wonder if I could somehow create an app and input such questions.

There was one snag.
I have zero expertise in regards to coding.Turned out that my ignorance was excusable because it seemed that Base44 would build an app for me for free.

Prompted it and it.got back to me with a functional app within minutes. Without hesitation, I began to input vocab exam questions.

Let my son try them for good measure!

Seemed that he could get some questions above his grade level correctly! This really ignited my motivation. I would consistently input questions so that I could stretch my son’s language ability, if nothing else.

Felt a sense of satisfaction because I managed to do something radical. (By my own standards - did I mention that I know zilch about coding?)

Nice! Maybe next year, lead an activity for your students to vibe code their own learning tools/games.

They might be even more motivated to learn vocabulary if they discover that they can craft their own digital experiences using just words.
