Check out my previous hikes here. #1291844
This week we head to Whyte Lake, a small, peaceful lake located near Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. The trail to Whyte Lake starts next to the Trans-Canada Highway, and the trails first passes underneath the highway before entering the forest. Whyte Lake trail is about 5km in length out-and-back, with approximately 160m elevation gain. It is a relatively easy trail that traverses through the typical Pacific Northwest forest, passing by hills and creeks. The lake itself is hiding in the woods, with various trees surrounding its shores. It is a quiet and peaceful place, perfect for sharing a tranquil moment with nature.
Heading to the trailhead from the parking lot.
Trail passes underneath the Trans-Canada Highway before entering the forest.
Small uphill section moving towards the forest.
Small creek next the the trail.
We visited in autumn, so there were lots of leaves on the trail.
A silo next the the trail. I had no idea what it stored.
In the woods. The wooden stair is rotting, slowly being eaten away by nature.
Autumn is fungi season.
I think these are fir trees.
More fungi / mushrooms.
A decent sized stream in the woods.
Small rocks, large rocks, mossed up rocks, lots of rocks.
Crossing a wooden bridge over a stream.
Reaching Whyte Lake.
Small and peaceful lake hidden in the middle of the forest.
Calm waters surrounded by different trees along its shores.
Enjoying the peace and quiet.
Beautiful.
