Most of the struggle comes from lack of understanding that is NOT required to run a public routing node in order to be able to use LN.
Many new users have the wrong idea that they must run a public node in order to transact over LN. And that's why many public nodes are trashy and clog the network.

Agreed, most don't realize that private routing is a thing and you can run a node on your phone using Neutrino to have private payment channels
