My YouTube channel is de-monetised and I’m all in on Bitcoin. In 2026 so far, my total income across value-for-value zaps and book sales combined (which I consider value-for-value) is just over 800 euros.
I love zaps, but I'm not sure that zaps will ever be a sustainable business model for content creators.
While I agree that influencers have awful incentives, it's not immediately clear to me how Bitcoin fixes this.
In a world with lots of content, content creation isn't as valuable as the creators might like.

Why did you think that?
A gradual replacement is sustainable but not legitimate. I don't see legitimacy in someone talking about bitcoin accepting all possible forms of payment and timidly sats. Posers.
That's the hope, I suppose. But I'm not sure that the account that is big enough to live on zaps will be able to resist all the other stuff it can do (ie. paid advertising or sponsorships).
Maybe Odell is an example. But Citadel Dispatch is less frequent these days, and he seems to have moved into managing his other ventures.
It's somewhat possible to break with it from a jobs perspective but it's very, very hard AND you'll have to give up having a resume or it'll be all for nothing.
I would say sponsorship money brings up influencers and turns them into marketing departments. If their content is free then there is no real community and u are the product being sold the sponsor.

Because I look at how many people are willing to zap big zaps and I do not see a sustainable business model.
I think it can just need to have a big enough following.

And his family. He has two young children.
Sure think of today’s major influencers like iShowSpeed and Nick Fuentes. They operated on donations for years.
No major popular influencer has actually tried to do v4v using bitcoin.

They would be in love with the shape of me if they fed me every now and then
