Who is behind Protos? They claim to be some kind of crypto newsletter but they come across as seriously anti-crypto, Bitcoin included.
Twenty years ago I learned some vi fundamentals. My knowledge has not grown at all since then. As of today if I have to edit a file in command line I still prefer to use vim over nano or anything else.
So I guess what I am saying is the 80/20 rule may apply here. If you want to learn to use vim go for it but don't try to become some vim master, I would seriously question that use of time. But learn a few basics sure and then use them. And if you find yourself preferring vim then sure go deeper. It is crazy powerful and can do so much, the question is whether that is needed in 2026, which will probably depend on what you are doing.
For my part I use it to modify config files, so I don't need much from it.
It's also pretty much guaranteed to be on any and every *nix OS you come across.
Did not see that coming. I've always been intrigued by David Cages games but I got to them too late, when the time came I didn't get more than a third into Detroit BH before putting it down.
Actually I only got 1/3 through Days Gone too despite loving open world games.
The only logical conclusion I can come to is that the market is wrong.
It's the PRC's fault that we had to bomb Iran.
Can you please expand on this, I've been following this conflict fairly closely and I have not heard this angle yet.
Also why do you keep saying 'we'? You had nothing to do with it?
Very interesting, on a similar note:
The tweet I pulled that from asked the question "What if the currency system changed right before our eyes & few noticed?"
Looks to me that the world is heading back to a gold standard in some capacity.
Genuinely surprised you didn't come across this earlier. And to answer a question you asked in another thread, no the MSM don't talk about it.
settle petal. he is saying the answer is in the questions, which is to say the answer to the question is 'to silence the posts/poster'.
embrace brevity.
Thanks for posting koob, I am on mobile so cbf typing much cause it's difficult but I see a future where the Bitcoin network is used to verify 'proof of life' so to speak. I can't see any other solution to the problem of determining whether something is AI or not, without resorting to a centralized solution.
I believe there is a nostr project along these lines and conceptually what I have mind is similar to what simple proof do. I would imagine the 'bitcoin is only money' crowd would object to this though.
One thing I learned in this recent drawdown when trying to understand why such a wide range of things sold off including btc, gold and silver amongst many other things is that when the time comes to pivot to a defensive position, supposedly that means buying Coke, McDonald's, and other old, established consumer facing businesses. Apparently these are things that people will buy even as the trumpets sound, according to Wall St.
Yes it is very popular with younger internet users, gamers, lots of different groups as far as I'm able to see.
Genuinely excited about the sheer volume of takes that are incoming. 'We have not yet begun to spill ink.'
Very interesting, thanks for the high level technical overview @optimism, much appreciated
what does 'freeze the wallets' mean? I have a bunch of Tether but it's all self-custodied in a wallet with a seed phrase. I am assuming they couldn't freeze that. But could they freeze individual tokens sitting in a particular wallet/address? Or do Tether offer custody services or something?
Interesting thoughts, thank you. But actually my small zap is for the Forrest Gump reference, wish such things were more common.
Goddamn that's pretty specific. I've recently moved to graphene which has many features I've yet to discover, but often I wonder if mitigations simply make you more obvious in your divergence from the norms. I've often wondered if the best way to blend in would be to surf from a Starbucks using Safari with no extensions running on MacOS.
Honestly the number of people in the ecosystem who struggle with this just crazy.
