Yes, but you’re ranked against all other zappers, not just downzappers. The expected value of a downzap would still be negative.

Right, but this way you can rack up more 'top zapper' points (total of up/down zaps) and get more daily rewards. Or maybe I’m not getting your algorithm!

Recall that earliness matters. Waiting to see which posts don’t do well is just as poor a strategy as waiting to see which catch on.

I suspect you’re right that it would be more effective, but probably still not very lucrative.

The strategy that would work better would be for someone who generally earns a lot of rewards to make posts under a different nym that will attract downzaps.
