You don't have to tip but it is customary if you like the comment/post to tip some sats. You do have to pay to post and comment. Each territory founder sets the sats price to post and comment. I run the sports territory. It is 69 sats to post and 2 sats to comment. Looks like AMA where you posted is 30 sats to post and 1 sat to comment. There is an escalator to root out spam so you can only post once per 10 minutes or you will pay 10x the posting fee but there is no penalty for comments as long as you are replying to someone.

It is news to me that posting in quick succession is more expensive, I thought it was 10x when you replied to yourself or more than once to the same parent comment.

Edit: Investigating this, it seems that it would cost 10 sats to reply to myself or to your post again, but only 1 sat to reply to Katerina above.

Yes. There is no multiplier if you are replying to someone.

For posts there is a 10 minute window where if you post again within the window a 10x multiplier is applied. I am not sure if you can get around this by posting in different territories.

Posts and comments 10x if:

  1. you reply to yourself within 10 minutes (unless you are OP, then you're exempt)
  2. you reply at the same level within 10 minutes
  3. you post after already posting within 10 minutes

For replies/posts that are >1 sats, there's an i on the button that shows a cost breakdown, including any 10x fees.

If you are going to spend sats like a drunken sailor I encourage you to join us in talking about tonight's playoff action. Haha
