I mean, I don't want to go back there but I don't want someone picking up my old username and scamming others with it. X is rife with imposters and scam accounts.

Keet it clear where people can find you in a trustworthy place like here as your example, nostr, owned server, places where you want to be. Holding your nym there just show that you want a bridge to comeback, fair enough, but speak it clear.
