There are still cool subcultures. One of my favorite is Chessbrah, founded by two Canadian GMs who mix chess with gaming and music and stream on Kick pretty much 24/7. They are audience funded. The community buys subs to support the channel.
I agree Stacker news is one of the best places on the Internet. For me, SN, Nostr, Chessbrah Kick, YouTube and occasionally Reddit, are pretty much the only Internet other than private group chats on Telegram and Signal. Oh and some Podcasts, I suppose, yours included.
