We have a really cool playground nearby with a big replica lighthouse that the kids can climb to the top of and then take a long slide down to the bottom. My daughter loves it and always calls it "the lighthouse park". This reminded me of that.

Great pics.

Thanks.

I guess you don't have real lighthouses in your part of the country, since even though the lakes are huge, they don't really need to install lighthouses to warn for cliffs. Have you guys visited the Maritimes? You can show your daughter the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove.

I have never been to the Maritimes even though my dad is from Nova Scotia. Shame on me. One of these summers.

The Maritimes is beautiful in the summer. Definitely plan for it. We took a road trip driving from Toronto all the way to St. John's, NL back in summer of 2024 and it was really fun.

Sounds amazing. A lot of driving. Are your kids good with being in the car that long?

reply

They're pretty good with sitting in the car for long distances, because we start bringing them to road trips and start training them to sit for long distances ever since they're little. They are also able to sleep in the car and keep one another entertained.

Talking about the trip with you makes me want to talk about these trips in more detail. Maybe I can start a gnilma trip series or something. Yes, dig more holes for myself, haha.
