travelled to Spain and Italy for my honeymoon. Taiwan is meant for long weekend trips haha
Today was the first day of Protected Time. You would have thought that I would feel exhilarated, but strangely, my heart feels a bit heavier than in term time. And this is not owing to the fact that I still need to come up with Term 3 Spelling list as well as mark the graduating class’s compositions.
Recent events — including the Parent Teacher Meeting and Excellence 2000 workshop — have impressed upon me the ginormous task it is to raise a child. I am now keenly aware that I would need to add physical writing of Chinese characters and inquiry-based activities onto my overflowing plate. I cannot simply ensure that he is engaged with KooBits and Ezhishi and flatter myself for doing a great job. There are other aspects that I cannot neglect.
I think the multifaceted, complicated nature of modern parenting has yet to be discussed satisfactorily in our national narrative. Why do people want to be child-free? The question should be: why would people want to risk being parents? I doubt my parents had it so tough.

I liked how your review made clear the connection you made while watching the movie. Some reviewers try to do a neutral commentary but it backfires if their writing style isn’t appealing because I don’t feel it
nice catch!
I think it is called mazesoba.
somehow mazesoba doesn’t have the same ring to it as ramen haha. applying some creative artistic license here
ya. goes to show that if one exercises his creative juices, he will be able to lend a unique twist to elevate an everyday product!
This photo was taken in a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Kumamoto. As a free-spirited person, I wondered whether the couple felt cooped up in their tiny space, having to serve the same customers day after day, enjoying no form of stimulus that reinvigorated their lives. But at the same time, I knew that there is a quiet and admirable dignity in sticking by each other, by the one thing that fuels your purpose, by the determination to stay put and sink roots that spread over a wide area. They had each other, ramen, and the community. Maybe that is all that matters.
